City man charged with carnal knowledge of 14-year-old

A Belize City man has been charged for engaging in sex with a fourteen-year-old. Thirty-five year old Bert Abraham has been charged with four counts of carnal knowledge. Abraham was arrested following a report by the teenage girl who claims that on January sixteenth, February twenty-first, and March nineteenth and twenty-second of this year, she had sexual intercourse with the suspect. A medical examination revealed that not only was the child sexually penetrated, but that she had contracted a sexually transmitted disease. Abraham has been remanded to Hattieville prison until July sixth. Before Abraham was remanded, however, Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord told the court “we are not getting cooperation from Social; they pick the ones they want and the rest you do not hear.” Police first heard about the incident after the minor, along with her mother, visited the Criminal Investigation Branch to report the crimes.
