Still No Motive for the Mahogany Heights Murder of Kevin Flowers

Earlier we told you about three murders over the course of Monday night and this morning. But the bloody Monday killings were preceded by an early morning shooting in Mahogany Heights. Forty-year old Kevin Flowers was gunned down in a remote area of the community, as he took a shortcut through the bush to reach the road to La Democracia, where he works. Residents would report that they heard several shots just after six that morning, but a passerby would later discover Flowers’ body slumped over on the path. Two bullets would snuff the life out of Flowers. Officer in Charge of the Crimes Investigation Branch of the Eastern Division, Superintendent Hilberto Romero told the media today that they have not been able to establish a motive behind the murder, but several persons have been detained for questioning.

Supt. Hilberto Romero, O.C., CIB, Eastern Division

“We have no motive. The police from Mahogany Heights are doing some searches. I know they have detained couple persons, but up to present, no one has been charged. Again that murder occurred yesterday and the investigations continue.”

“Do you know at least home many times he was shot?”

Supt. Hilberto Romero

“He has, we know, two gunshots.”

“Sir, according to family members, the department was a little slow in terms of response to the scene, scenes of crime, so on and so forth. Is that in any way impeding investigations as we speak?”

Supt. Hilberto Romero

“No, that is not impeding investigation. We know that the shots were heard initially and thereafter that body was found. It was not immediately that they called in about the shots; it was someone that was passing through that found the body.”
