Body Discovered After 21 Days of Searching

Since he went missing on April thirtieth, the family of Densfield Bowen, feared the worst. Tonight, as they grieve, they are preparing to lay him to rest and close a sad chapter of their lives. Bowen, a stevedore and an alleged gang affiliate, was found dead on Thursday afternoon near Mile eight on the George Price Highway. His body was inside his red pick-up truck. While police investigate the murder, his common-law-wife, has traced his whereabouts after he left their house the last time. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

Shortly before three-thirty on Thursday afternoon, the lifeless body of twenty-seven-year-old Denfield Bowen was discovered along an isolated feeder road near the mile eight community off the George Price Highway. The fetid remains of the stevedore were found inside his red Mazda pickup, bringing to a horrific end three nerve-racking weeks of uncertainty.

“So really now we find ih body so ih baby dehn could really sih and know well dehn pa noh di cohn home again.”
Bowen, otherwise known as LL, was a resident of Plues Street. He was also known to be affiliated with the George Street gang. His disappearance on April thirtieth sparked widespread rumors that it may have been the result of internal squabbling. That theory was shared by the Commissioner of Police just a day before Bowen’s untimely departure.

“Yes, many of the shootings that we see are gang related in the sense that it appears to us that they are splintering within some of the various groups and the murders that are committed are by, in many causes, members of the same groups targeting each other. It seems to be disharmony and distrust among them.”
Bowen’s common-law wife, Claudine Dawson, describes their last moment.

Ah di cohn.” And he stand up da di shop door and he watch me and when he gaan da di pickup he tell di baby dehn come out and he sihdown eena di pickup and he watch me and shake ih head. Fahn he gaan, he take off and I watch my watch and dah mi twenty past five.”
That would be the last time she would see him alive. What Bowen’s wife says next is conjecture.

“ Afta ten we get wahn phone call sehe dat dehn mi got wahn fyah dah Brown house, whiching da deh he gaan, right da Fada house and ih noh cohn back. So when we get di call we gaan da all police station, check, nobody di deh. We call hospital, dehn sehe dehn might have he deh da intensive care. When we gaan deh di Friday nobody such as that name.”
A post mortem examination was conducted on the body but due to the advanced state of decomposition the cause of death was undetermined.
