Laundromat robber gets 6 years
A man who mistakenly thought the owner of a Belize City laundromat was an easy target for robbery was given six years in jail by Magistrate Margaret Gabb on Thursday. The incident in question dates back to November thirtieth, 2004, when Shane Fuller was working at a laundromat on “C” Street in Kings Park. His boss, Leslie Vernon, said Fuller put a knife to his throat and robbed him of a gold bracelet, cell phone, and almost two hundred dollars in cash. Fuller then jumped on his bike and attempted to ride off, but Vernon got into his car and chased him towards All Saint’s School where he hit the bike causing Fuller to fall off. Vernon then ran over the bike. When police arrived at the scene, Vernon identified Fuller who was taken into custody and charged with robbery.
