No prosecution in case of 4-year-old’s death
In the Supreme Court today charges were withdrawn against Kyra Plunkett, accused of causing the death of a four-year-old child in 2002. The D.P.P.’s office declined to prosecute because the family of little Honey Flowers left for the United States just months after the incident and has expressed no desire to press the case. Plunkett had been keeping a gun in a bag in her home, holding it for a male friend, Dean Cain. Honey found the gun and accidentally shot herself. In May of 2002, Cain pleaded guilty to a possession charge and was fined three thousand dollars.
