Businesswoman and baby beaten in O.W. robbery

Police in Orange Walk have picked up two people for questioning following an unusual attack on a businesswoman in Guinea Grass village. According to thirty four year old King Pint Li, she was inside the Dragon Entertainment Centre on the Belize Corozal Road when two of her patrons attacked and robbed her of two hundred dollars in cash. According to King, shortly after four on Monday afternoon a man and a woman entered the establishment and proceeded to play the slot machines and drink beers. About an hour later, the proprietor said the couple left to go to the bathroom, but shortly after the man came out and reported that the faucet was broken. King said that she picked up her nineteen-month-old baby and went to investigate the complaint. Not realizing she was walking into a trap, King said she was viciously attacked by the man with a barrage of punches, one of which caught the infant across the side of its head. King said that from the bathroom she heard her female attacker open the cash register and the sound of money being removed. After the attack, the partners in crime casually walked out of the establishment. Both the baby and its mother have been treated for their injuries and released from the Northern Regional Hospital.
