Former Fire Chief carjacked in King’s Park

Just two weeks ago, the neighbourhood was the scene of a cold-blooded murder, and on Monday morning, the corner of St. Matthew Street and Princess Margaret Drive became the site of another violent crime. According to the victim, sixty-six year old former Fire Chief Boisrand Panton, he had just pulled up to the corner when a man on foot walked in front of the vehicle and fired a single shot into the air to make the Chevy truck stop. Panton complied and the gunman then approached the driver’s door, opened it and robbed Panton of two hundred and twenty-five dollars. Not content with the cash, the thief then pulled Panton from the vehicle and drove off. Police would later recover the stolen truck in the same neighbourhood, near St. Charles Street. A check by the owner has revealed that the robber also stole a package that he had left on the seat. Authorities are tonight seeking one suspect for questioning. If you have any information that may assist the investigation, please contact the nearest police station.
