Murder suspect captured thanks to tip

Belize City Police this Sunday captured a man who was wanted in connection with the death of Wasani Belgrave, which occurred on May nineteenth and have charged him with murder. Police followed up on a tip that led them to a house on Iguana Street in Belize City where they found Alex Palacio, who did not resist arrest. Police had been searching for Palacio since the incident in which Belgrave was stabbed to death on Caesar Ridge Road. An off-duty police officer who witnessed the stabbing had placed Palacio in handcuffs. However, when the officer turned to render assistance to the wounded Belgrave, Palacio escaped and had been on the run until his capture.
