Placencia Police on Alert Before Lobster Fest

On Tuesday, Quick Response Team of the Police Department in Placencia conducted several searches in Seine Bight for drugs. In an abandoned lot in that community, they found what appeared to be a part of a makeshift object adopted as a handmade firearm. The homemade gun was retrieved and taken to the Placencia Police station where it was labeled as found property. Later than same day, at about four-thirty p.m., the Placencia Quick Response Team was led to an area behind the cemetery in Independence Village where inside a culvert, wrapped in a plastic bag police found a Daewoo brand nine millimeter pistol containing an empty magazine. The firearm was taken to the Placencia Police Station where it too was labeled as found property.
