ADU Makes Million Dollar Heroin Bust in Corozal
Further up north in the village of Ranchito, the Police Anti-Drug Unit, ADU, made a sizeable bust of highly addictive and illegal drug. In operations at a house in the village on Monday, they found seven parcels of heroin, which weighed in at over sixteen pounds of the drug. The bust, in the U.S., carries a street value of over six hundred and forty thousand U.S. dollars, which is over one point two million Belize dollars. Four persons including a female were arrested at the time of the bust. Fifty-one year-old Fermin Velasquez, a mechanic of Ranchito, twenty-five year old Eber Rivera of San Joaquin, fifty-one year old Kua Liao also known as Peter, a Chinese businessman of eight miles George Price Highway and thirty-eight year old Alba Velasquez of Ranchito were arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.
