Boledo vendor shot on southern road
In crime news from the Stann Creek District, a boledo vendor was injured when a group of would-be robbers tried to stop his vehicle and probably hold him up. The victim told police he was returning to Santa Cruz Village from Placencia around five-thirty Thursday evening when upon approaching the Sagitun Farm, two men came out of the bushes and opened fire on his vehicle. He refused to stop even when two more men came out onto the highway and also began firing, damaging his vehicle’s rear windshield. The vendor was grazed in the chest and right hand by shotgun pellets and was treated at the Southern Regional Hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
