Body of Toledo toddler found in forest

All hopes of rescuing a missing toddler in Toledo were dashed early this afternoon when the child’s skeletal remains were found in the general vicinity of where he was last seen five days ago. According to police, two-year-old Rosendo Coy’s bones were found today in the bush near Sunday Wood Village. At this time, however, they cannot say how the little boy died. While foul play has not been ruled out, there is speculation that the child may have been attacked by wild animals after wandering off into the forest. Last Thursday the boy’s mother, twenty-eight year old Amelia Coy, told police that around five-thirty that evening she left her son with in-laws to go with family members to a nearby creek to wash clothes. But Coy says when she returned they told her that they never did see Rosendo and did not know that he was under their care.
