No Progress in Kareem Clarke Murder Investigation
Police are also nowhere close to determining who callously murdered Amandala’s star reporter, Kareem Clarke last Monday. Earlier this week at a police briefing, CIB’s Officer in Command, Superintendent Hilberto Romero, told the media that a minor had been detained in connection with the murder. The minor is tonight on remand at the Central Prison in Hattieville, not for the murder of Kareem, but for possession of an unlicensed firearm. Romero told us more.
Supt. Hilberto Romero, O.C., CIB, Belize City
“That minor was charged for possession of unlicensed firearm. He is remanded to prison, but we have not charged him for any other charge other than that possession of firearm at this time.”
Reporter
“Can you talk to us about the nature of this possession of firearms? Speak to us about how he was arrested in this?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“Search was conducted where he was and the police came across that firearm and he was charged.”
Reporter
“This was when he was first detained?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“Yes, the police found him at that address off Vernon Street.”
Duane Moody
“Sir so no update whatsoever on Kareem Clarke?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“No, no. We are continuing with some work with the case and no one has been charged for that murder.”
Reporter
“How about from the Murillo angle? Is he still being investigated for that shooting?”
Supt. Hilberto Romero
“Yeah, he is still being investigated for that shooting likewise.”
