Pallotti Music School gets high marks

As many of the nation’s students prepare for the C.X.C. and the P.S.E., students from the Pallotti Music School just got the results of an examination they took… and not only did they pass, their high notes brought high marks.

The Pallotti Music School is pleased to announce that not only have thirteen of their students received distinctions from the prestigious Associated Board of Music in England, but eight other students from Gina Scott, Alice Williams, and Melba Staine music schools, have also earned honours.

?It is a reflection of the dedication of our teachers and students. In fact, I have seen tutors come from outside and they always comment that the students in Belize are so respectful and things like that, that they don?t get any longer, like in countries like Canada and the States, they always have respect for their teachers. And if you get them to do the practice the results are usually spectacular.?

?I think it is important for us to get involved in music because it helps us to be cheerful and gets us more intelligent because music helps with the brain and everything.?

Hilary Chen, who only started playing the violin about seven months ago, says she expected to pass with distinction because she worked hard to achieve only the best.

?It?s not really hard as long as you practice daily. As long as you practice the scales, the pieces, everyday, you will pass with distinction. It is not hard.?

But it?s not only students who sit the exam. Music teachers like Fransin Cain continue to improve their skills.

I am a teacher and I need to have as much credit as possible. So the more practical exams and theory exams that I do, the better it will be for me.?

Each year over three hundred students from ninety countries sit the exam.
