Missing Girl Found in Lucky Strike

Jacqueline Carmen Calderon, a Belize City minor who was reported missing on Thursday has been found. The thirteen year old is now in the custody of the Human Services Department after she was found in Lucky Strike Village in Rural Belize by the Eastern Division Strike Team. After the missing report aired on this station, the persons with whom she was with contacted the police and Calderon was brought in. The student, who resides in the Southern Foreshore area, was reported missing after she went to a restaurant on Albert Street to buy phone credit on Tuesday. Rural Regional Commander, Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster, told the media today that the Department of Human Services has joined in on the investigation.

“Reference the missing person report with the thirteen year old young female…. She was discovered in the village of Lucky Strike by the Rural Eastern Division Strike Team and she was taken to Belize City where an active investigation is ongoing and we will not comment any further with respect to the missing person and the investigation that is currently ongoing.”

“Is there anything that you can say to us as to who she was with in that area?”

“The individuals that she was with in that area was the one that called the police. We have recorded statements from them and like I said, there is an active investigation going on with respect to that matter that we will not comment upon.”
