….Needs Your Help To Compete
The Jaguars, according to Kuylen, have been training intensely, participating in exercises on the beachfront, as well as mountainous terrain in preparation for the match. Financially, however, there is still a quota to be met in order for the Jaguars to compete in Toronto. Of that sum, the Government of Belize has granted the Football Federation of Belize one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars, a fraction of what the team needs to defray its upcoming expenses.
Marlon Kuylen, Senior Executive, F.F.B.
“Well the Jaguars have been training very hard, we were in Placencia two weeks ago. Three days practicing on the beach and then we were in Pine Ridge last week for three days also on the mountains. So for the past month we’ve been doing mostly physical. Going into the next month now we will be more technical and tactical, but yes we will be working very hard and the team has been in camp five days a week and yes we are looking forward to the Canada match…”

“Now from a financial perspective, each tier that Belize rises up to there is another financial cost involved. What are looking at this time around and how close are we to making that target?”
Marlon Kuylen
“Well the budget was for three hundred and fifty thousand dollars which of that alone salaries for coaches, per diem, transportation costs is a hundred and fifty thousand. Now, as you know, we received a hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars from the Government of Belize. We have, our marketing team has been visiting some of the corporate citizens of Belize and the outlook or the response so far has been very positive. So I believe that we will get what we need to come through.”
The away game, as we mentioned earlier, will be played in Toronto on September fourth.
