Mayans Will Wait for Justice System to Work

While the village, according to Mis, did not plan on taking legal action against Myles, residents are now placing their faith in the justice system.  Still yet, there is also no relationship between Myles and the villagers of Santa Cruz.

“The village never intended to pursue legal action against this gentleman because in Maya villages we always promote the notion of owning our wrong, making peace with that and promoting harmony in the community.  That, of course, the gentleman did not embrace and now we see then that whatever the law that needs to be applied we expect that that is pursued in this case.”

“What has been the climate in terms of what has transpired back in June to now, seeing as though Mr. Myles remained on the property thereafter; it is only now that the institute is moving to have him evicted from that area.  What has been the atmosphere, the relationship between the residents of Santa Cruz and Mr. Myles in the wake of all of this that has happened here?”

“There is almost no relation because Mr. Myles is not in the village, he just comes to visit and goes out.  So Santa Cruz continues to expect that the site be protected.”
