Daniel and Lydia Castillo were scheduled to renew their wedding vows this coming Saturday, but a traffic accident this past Saturday changed all that as Daniel sadly lost his life. According to Castillo?s sister-in-law, Kennisha Garbutt, Daniel was on his way to Chetumal to pick up his tuxedo when tragedy struck on the Belize-Corozal Road.

?We?ve heard that the axle in the back broke and the wheel fell off and the Rodeo flipped several times.?
?It appears that all of them….?
Two American friends who had come to Belize to attend the ceremony were also seriously injured.

?Jason has been released. Marcus is still not doing so well. He?s asking about Daniel, but we don?t want to tell him because the doctors are concerned about a swelling on his brain.?
?It appears that all of them had their seatbelt on and that didn?t and Jason from being thrown from the vehicle. They were thrown out as it flipped.?
Garbutt says because the phone service was down they did not find out about the accident until the following Sunday morning after they had the bridal shower.
Kennisha Garbutt
?I guess, as anyone would be, a little bit annoyed because we could have found out earlier.?
?We had the bridal shower earlier, about seven, eight; not knowing that he had already passed.?
Garbutt believes if there was phone service, their loved ones would have gotten the immediate medical help they needed.
Kennisha Garbutt
?Yes I do believe so. We?re not certain how Daniel died, if he broke his neck or what, but people have broken their necks before and survived if they got attention immediately.?
Daniel and Lydia were married five years ago and have a four-year-old son. Jacqueline Woods for News Five.
Daniel Castillo will be laid to rest following funeral services on Wednesday afternoon in Orange Walk.
