U.B. to collaborate with George Price Centre
In Belmopan today, the University of Belize signed a memorandum of understanding with the George Price Centre for the sharing of resources, facilities, and personnel. U.B. President Corinth Morter-Lewis and Price Centre Coordinator Elsie Alpuche say they have common goals in terms of education and the development of Belize. Since the George Price Centre is also adjacent to the U.B. campus, it will be relatively easy for U.B. students and faculty to use the centre’s library and attend various workshops and seminars. In exchange, the George Price Centre will also have access to a large pool of academics and other professionals to enhance its own programmes. Mayor Anthony Chanona, signed the memorandum on behalf of the City of Belmopan, saying the City Council welcomes yet another opportunity to offer its support to U.B. and commended the George Price Centre for its commitment to peace and the development of Belize.
