After some two and a half months, the King of the Ballers Tournament reached money time Friday night at Big Bird?s Isle where Blackballers and B.T.L. Scare Dem Bullets clashed in the decisive match of the three game championship series.

For sure, no one has to tell Keith ?Superman? Acosta what time it is when he steals and rises up for the monster slam. When Acosta misses this lay-up Ernest Broaster cagily executes the put-back for two of his twelve game points.
At the end of the first quarter, Blackballers boast a 22-14 lead.
In the second quarter, the lead would balloon and we must say Edward Baptist feints Lennox Bowman out of his skin to sink this three points.
Ty Bradley nevertheless keeps rolling for the phone company?he would finish with fifteen points, but at the half it?s the Ballers up by nine.
In the third, Scare Dem Bullet goes to Darwin Leslie for offence and he delivers two of his fourteen points right here. But A.C. Augustine, who would lead all scorers with eighteen points, gives the Ballers this three-ball.
Speaking of three-ball, here?s the man himself, Kevin Seroki hitting his only field goal of this match, but it?s good for three.
Ernest Broaster, who would strike for twelve points, gets two for Blackballers.
In the meantime, we?re not sure if this was planned by Acosta, but however you look at it, it?s good for two. At the end of three, it?s a fifteen point Blackballers lead.
B.T.L. does try to make a run in the fourth. Carlisle Barrow spots up for the long deuce?he would finish with a team high seventeen points. Ty Bradley then strikes for three, but the get-back run would fall woefully short as the Blackballers win the series in a 79-64 final score?and we say congratulations to Keith Acosta, A.C. Augustine, and company.
Turning to female basketball news, the WIN-Belize female tournament has action over the weekend sports, and in matches played, Sparks overwhelmed BSH Lions 65-17, while Maria Chang Eagles outlasted Rookies 44-38.
This Friday?s scheduled at the City Centre finds BSH Lions taking on Rookies, Maria Chang Second Edition tackles Sparks, while WIN-Belize goes up against the mighty Maria Chang Eagles.
Turning to the football scene, week eleven of the Regent?s Cup Tournament brought league-leading Sagitun of Independence to the M.C.C. Grounds for its scheduled clash with Kremandala Lake yesterday.
And it?s the home team looking to grab the early lead with this outside shot that screams over the crossbar. Folks, we?re only eleven minutes into the action when Elroy Kuylen catches up with this nice feed to smack the pill past Stanley Reneau and Sagitun leads 1-zip just like that.
Five minutes later it?s Kuylen with the nice beat?gets the return pass and fires this wicked left foot that leaves Kremandala down 2-zip.
And you?ve got that right–at the half it?s a 2-zip Sagitun lead.
Folks, in the opening minutes of the second half the Lake allows the Sagitun defence to get away with this monumental error. Of course luck cuts both ways as Kremandala somehow dodges another bullet right here.
However, on the cornerkick that followed, Robert Muschamp catches up with this centre to give Sagitun a 3-zip lead.
Folks, this might have been the biggest test for Sagitun keeper Darren Hinds in this ballgame and he passes it with flying colours.
We are in the waning moments of this ballgame when Mark ?Kello? Leslie splices this lead pass to beat Reneau and make it a 4-zip final in favour of Sagitun, the defending champions.
In other action around the league, the Cayo Avengers and San Pedro Seahawks battled to a scoreless stalemate out at the cays, while at the People?s Stadium, O.W. Juventus jolted Kulture Yabra 3-zip in a game marred by controversy. We want to thank the Orange Walk unit that sent this tape to us. Here?s a look at the melee that occurred at Orange Walk yesterday, and from our vantage point it does look like there?s trouble in the horizon for at least two Yabra players. We are going to wait for an official comment from the B.P.F.L.
In cycling news, here?s the finish of the Santino?s Belmopan Classic for non-elite riders staged over the weekend. It?s James ?Cocky? Welch with the power surge to take the top honours, beating out Roque Matus who pulls up second, Santi Castillo third, Kenneth Butler fourth, while Fitzgerald ?Palas? Joseph comes out of retirement to round out the top five.
In other cycling news, Gina Lovell won the three stage M and M female tour, which concluded yesterday, with an overall time of four hours, twenty-nine minutes, thirty seconds. We say congratulations. Sandra Vallastaros took second in four hours twenty-nine minutes, forty-one second, while Fiona Humes Gonzalez rounds out the top three with her time of four hours, twenty-nine minutes, fifty-nine seconds.
Finally, in softball news Royal Devils of Esperanza and Colonial Hills of Mississippi, U.S.A. split a pair of male international matches over the weekend. Royal Devils took game one 11-7, while the visitors come back to grab game two 15-14. We don?t know who won this particular series, I guess we?ll just have to call that a tie.
