Two-year-old drowns at Gracie Rock

Story PictureIt is not the first and will certainly not be the last drowning we will report during this season of hot sunny weather… but each time we broadcast this type of news it still hurts. The latest victim is two-year-old Jalen Samuels. The baby boy, a resident of Faber’s Road in Belize City, went on a family outing Sunday at Gracie Rock Village. The child’s aunt, Roshane Samuels, told police that they realized he was missing and immediately began a search. Jalen’s body was found a short time later floating in the Sibun River. Details of how Jalen came to be in the water are not clear, as he was last seen on the riverbank with several other children.
