Chairman of the Progressive Cane Farmers’ Association Shot in Corozal
A Corozal man was shot early this morning. Details are still sketchy at this time as no official report was made to the Corozal Police, but we have confirmed that Abisur Loza, the Chairman of the Progressive Cane Farmers’ Association, was shot in the hand sometime between one and two this morning in Patchakan Village. The family declined comment, other than to say that Loza was indeed shot but that they had no further details of the incident. Our sources say that Loza called his family to tell them he was shot after he left out to go hunting. He was taken to Orange Walk Hospital, and then transferred to the K.H.M.H. where he is listed in a stable condition.
