Cayo doctor accused of indecent assault

Residents of the Cayo District are still in shock following a disturbing report made to police regarding a local doctor. According to San Ignacio police, fifty-eight year old physician Dr. Jorge Garcia has been arrested and charged with indecent assault as a result of allegations made by a female patient. News Five understands that the twenty-two year old woman told authorities that she visited Garcia’s clinic on Hudson Street last Tuesday morning, seeking medical attention. The woman says the doctor instructed her to take off all her clothes, but instead of checking her over, the patient alleges that Garcia started to kiss her on various parts of her nude body. At this point, the woman grabbed her clothes, made a quick exit and immediately filed a report with the cops. The doctor is out on bail for a thousand dollars and scheduled to reappear in San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court on April twenty-sixth.
