O.W. hit & run driving suspect arrested
The search for the driver of a vehicle that knocked down a cyclist near San Estevan Village, fatally injuring him last week Sunday night has ended. Orange Walk police today reported that they have arrested thirty-one-year-old Udelmir Patt of San Estevan and charged him for the offences of manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, failure to stop and render aid, failure to report an accident and driving without due care and attention. Police reports say that forty-nine-year-old Guadelupe Manuel Quetzal was riding his bike from Orange Walk Town towards San Estevan Village, but a mile before reaching his destination, Quetzal was hit from behind. A post mortem examination of the body determined the cause of death as multiple skull factures.
