Travellers’ Launches Fiesta Rum
There’s a brand new rum on the local scene and it’s called Fiesta Rum coming out of the barrels at Traveller’s. But this one is actually a partnership; the brainchild of local personality, Troy “DJ Dalla” Flowers, who tested and approved it, and blended and perfected by the masters of rum at Travellers. Today, they launched the new product that they hope becomes the choice of rum for party goers in Belize. It has been tested across the country and they say that it was hit with the public; so much so that it is bound to give even Captain Morgan and the other spiced rums on the market a run for their money. News Five was there for the launch.

“We decided on Fiesta Rum. I said I wanted a party rum. I have travelled all over the world- the UK, the Caribbean, the U.S and inna the party scene there is nothing like a good rum when you the party. Without a good rum when you the party, that’s not a party. So, I decided to, you know, with the little popularity that I have I will venture into something different and I decided into doing Fiesta Rum. I prefer wah rum weh have wah lee sweet taste, you know, I nuh like wah rum weh too strong. So, Julio came up with three or four different blends and we had a taste test right here at Traveller’s and everybody choose Fiesta Rum.”
Julio Reyes, Quality Control Chemist
“Fiesta Rum is basically one of our newest blends. It’s basically a spiced rum, actually one of our first spiced rums, using natural spices and one of our finest aged rums that we have. It’s actually a blend, it’s not a hundred percent aged rum. It’s basically a gold rum but a spiced rum. It’s very smooth. Do not expect a hangover because it is a very clean alcohol. The flavors are amazing. Surprisingly, for this blend it came out really nice. You can do the smell-taste aroma, you will get the aroma of the natural vanilla, hazel nut, and chocolate, cinnamon and all those flavors actually come from the barrel itself and of course added with natural spices from Belize, of course.”
Magali Perdomo-Gabb, General Manager, Traveller’s
“We hope to have it out by this weekend, hopefully by Monday. Export- if people want to export it, of course, we are always willing to export to add to our line. And yes, this is the first time we are partnering with somebody in Belize City to bring out a rum.”
Fiesta Rum, which will retail for about sixteen dollars, will be going on the market over the next few days. Traveller’s said that they hope to add Fiesta Rum to their roster of “award winning rums.”
