Man attempts to set fire to girlfriend’s house

“If I can’t live with you, then nobody will.” That is what
twenty-seven-year-old Shirley Lambey claims her live-in boyfriend twenty-five-year-old Travis Olivera told her just before he allegedly tried to burn down their house with her inside the building. The incident occurred following a domestic dispute early Sunday morning. Lambey has told police that sometime after two a.m. she and her boyfriend came home and they started to quarrel and she locked him out of the house. Lambey claims Olivera shouted his threats, lit a cloth and shoved the burning material under the front door. While Lambey says she managed to stop the flames from spreading, the fire did burn a curtain and sofa valued at four hundred dollars. Police have since arrested and charged Olivera with arson and damage to property.
