Vehicles crash on Coney Drive
A traffic accident on one of the busiest intersections in Belize City has left two vehicles mangled while their occupants thankfully escaped without serious injuries. Reports say that around four this afternoon, a Honda Accord was driving along Coney Drive, when it slammed into another vehicle that was turning unto the road from one of the side streets. The resulting impact sent the Accord into a ditch. Authorities at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital say two people were treated and released. Meanwhile, following the death of a teenaged boy last week, police have charged the driver of the vehicle that knocked down him down three months ago. Rudolph Serrano was today charged for the crimes of manslaughter by negligence, driving without due care and attention, driving a motor vehicle without third party risk insurance and causing death by careless conduct. The accident on January eight critically injured sixteen-year-old Delvoy Castillo who was riding a bicycle. Castillo succumbed to those injuries on Friday.
