P.M. Wishes COLA Well in Ongoing Public Campaign
While COLA continues to implement what shows promise of being a very muscular campaign, the group, headed by President Geovanni Brackett, has gotten the attention of the Prime Minister. His attention…and even some back-handed encouragement as it turns out, but that’s not the same thing as saying that G.O.B. has been swayed.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“I don’t want to be rude. I don’t want to be mean. So all I will say is that COLA has every right to do what it’s doing. They are supposed to be some sort of a pressure group and one of their objectives is to try and ensure that there is transparency in public affairs. I would really want to know who is funding them, but it doesn’t really matter. I wish them well in their continued advocacy. Government of course will simply proceed with its agenda and with its timing convinced that both agenda – convinced that it is right – Government that is – with respect to both that agenda and the timing.”
