Community helps solve crime

Police in Ladyville say that thanks to the community’s help, a suspected burglar is behind bars. Reports are that on Wednesday, residents of the area called in to the station regarding a robbery in progress at a house at mile ten on the Northern Highway. When officers arrived at the scene they found a broken back window and the home ransacked. But a quick search turned up several of the victim’s appliances, clothing and personal items hidden in the nearby bushes. News 5 understands that armed with an eyewitness’s description of the perpetrator, a twenty-nine-year-old man from Mitchell Estate has been detained pending charges of burglary.
