Man charged with Coke Truck robbery

Police have arrested and charged an eighteen-year-old Belize City man in connection with the armed robbery of a Bowen and Bowen delivery truck over the weekend. According to the driver of the soft drink truck, he was making deliveries in the St. Martin de Porres area on Saturday morning when two men held him up and robbed him of six hundred dollars. Quick leg work by the police led to the arrest of Francis Petillo. He was taken to Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday where he was formally charged with robbery. Because a gun was used in the commission of the crime, Petillo was refused bail and remanded to Hattieville Prison until his next court appearance on April Fourteenth. Police continue their search for the second suspect.
