Two charged in restaurant robbery

Belize City police have arrested and charged two men following the robbery of a restaurant on Friday night. Twenty-four-year-old Jian Quang Chen of a West street address told police that shortly before midnight on Friday he was inside his establishment, the Sunshine Restaurant, when two men entered and robbed him of cash and jewellery. Police say when they responded to reports of a robbery in progress they saw a man running away from the location. The cops set chase and were able to apprehend the suspect. A search of the area later turned up the second alleged robber hiding near the restaurant. Twenty-year-old Michael Young and nineteen-year-old Brandon James were both arrested and charged for the crime of robbery. Police say they have recovered most of the stolen items, including nearly all of the six hundred dollars reportedly taken.
