Gunmen Spray Bullets on Antelope Street Residence, Two Persons Injured

Chester Williams

Two hours later, police were called out to Antelope Street where two persons were injured in another shooting. Around eleven-thirty p.m., at least two gunmen reportedly fired a barrage of bullets at the house of twenty-one year old Andrea Buller and twenty-five year old Kendale Sanchez, hitting them to various parts of the body. Buller was hit to the abdomen, while Sanchez was injured to the left arm and right thigh. The shooting, according to authorities, occurred following a misunderstanding at the B.T.L. Park earlier that day following the carnival road march.

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South
“Two persons were shot at a home and from what we are gathering; this is something that started at the B.T.L. Park after the carnival, where there seemingly was a confrontation between two groups. When these persons went home, they were inside their home sleeping—or not really sleeping, but lying down—and from outside of the building, shots were fired and they were caught. Both Andrea and another fellow, Kendale Sanchez, who also received gunshot wounds and they too are admitted at the K.H.M.H. in a stable condition.”

“The area where they were shot…can you say?”

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams

“This is on Antelope Street Extension. Miss Andrea was shot on the left side of the abdomen and the guy Sanchez was shot on the left and right arm area.”

Duane Moody

“Sir you said the motive behind that was a misunderstanding after the carnival?”

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams

“Yes…that took place after the carnival.”

Duane Moody

“So that would mean that you guys also know who the suspect is.”

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams

“We have a basic idea who the suspects are, but because of the situation in which it took place, they were unable to see them because they shot from outside. So we have to see if we can build a case behind that.”

Reporter

“But in terms of the two groups, you have more information as to who they are. Are these gang groups?”

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams

“Not necessarily so, but they have affiliations.”
