Mesop Area Rep Says G.O.B. has Nothing to do with FCIB Employees
Since Fonseca was demanding answers, the Mesopotamia Area Representative decided to give him some, in his own ‘special’ style. According to Michael Finnegan, G.O.B. has absolutely nothing to do with workers losing their jobs, so can’t be expected to step in.

“Mr. First Caribbean Bank…guess ih want get out of the business so ih decide he wah sell to Mister Heritage. And Mister Heritage decide now well I want buy for Mister Royal Belize Bank. Now weh U.D.P. administration, Dean Barrow or U.D.P. government has to do with a private transaction? If I want sell my business to Said Musa, Dean Barrow administration can’t stop me from sell by business to Said Musa. Dean Barrow administration has to facilitate us in conducting the transactions. Yo understand me sir? That’s simple thing that small mind should know that. How can the government be blamed because Mister First Caribbean Bank wah sell out to Mister Heritage? Weh we got fi do with that? How can we interfere with that? We can’t interfere with that. Now, when Mister First Caribbean done sell out to Mister Heritage and Mister Heritage take over Mister First Caribbean and when ih look pan ih staff members…ih say all den yah I noh want. That dah mister Heritage business; that noh have no business to deal with the Dean Barrow administration. Dah noh we…we noh di take away no job from nobody. Mister First Caribbean sell out to Mister Heritage and when Mister Heritage buy and take over, Mister Heritage say I noh want all dehn workers; I wah down pan the staff weh I got yah. So how can you turn around and blame the Barrow administration because wah private transaction gone on and the final person in the transaction say all the employees yah I noh want dehn? I wah take some and I wah get rid of some. How we get ina that? How yow ah blame we fi that?”
