Two wounded in Faber’s Road shooting

Tonight Belize City police continue to investigate a shooting on the southside that has left two people recovering from bullet wounds. Reports are that around eight thirty last night sixty-seven-year-old Marie Olivera was inside her house, near the intersection of Kraal Road and Fabers Road when she heard a sharp noise…but it would take a few seconds for her to realize that the sudden burning sensation in her thigh meant she had been shot. Olivera was rushed to the K.H.M.H. As she was being treated another victim, twenty-two-year-old Dwayne Saldano, entered the Accident and Emergency Ward suffering from a gunshot to the back of his neck. Saldano told authorities that he had been riding his bicycle on Faber’s Road near Kraal Road when he heard three blasts from a gun and then realized that he too had been hit. This afternoon, police told News 5 they are questioning one person but have yet to make any arrests.
