Alleged gunmen charged in Yabra shooting
Belize City police arrested two men they strongly believe were the triggermen in a shootout that left four men injured in the Port Loyola Area on Thursday afternoon. Authorities say based on information they received, they suspect that twenty-three-year-old Arden Smith-Robinson and eighteen-year-old Orin Michael were the duo who rode up on bicycles and opened fire on a group of friends who were inside a game room on Queen Charlotte Street. By the time the firing ceased, twenty-two-year-old Kevin Underwood lay on the ground with gunshot wounds to his right side and left leg, twenty- six-year-old Marlon Robinson was hit in the left leg and right hip, twenty-five-year-old Kirk Beard was shot in the buttocks, and twenty-four-year-old Tyrone Neal had a gunshot graze to the left knee. It is believed the attack was the result of another shooting incident that occurred earlier that day and left seventeen-year- old Reynold Michael hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the right foot. When police found Smith-Robinson and Michael at a residence on Amara Avenue they had in their possession a loaded thirty-eight revolver. A further search yielded another firearm and ammunition at the house. Smith-Robinson and Michael have been charged for the crime of keeping unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Robinson has been additionally charged for four counts of attempted murder, two counts of dangerous harm, two counts of grievous harm, use of deadly means of harm and one count of aggravated assault.
