Belize Boxing Federation Receives Donation from the Olympic Association

The Belize Boxing Federation is the recipient of a major donation from the Belize Olympic Association.  Today, the organization received several thousand dollars in equipment, including gloves and title belts.  The contribution, says Sulph, will be used to develop the sport across the country.  As for the belts, they will be up for grabs in a series of boxing events that will be held in the months ahead.

Moses Sulph, President, Belize Boxing Federation

“I am extremely satisfied and appreciative for the over five thousand U.S. dollars worth of equipment and gear that we received for the Belize Boxing Federation today.  Thank goodness this has been an effort of the federation, about a year ago we wrote the National Olympic Committee asking for their support in getting us these gears.  Finally, they were able to do the process and now we’ve received the gears, you know.  I must say that the person who handed over the gear to us earlier was Mr. Sonny Meighan and it was authorized by Mr. Hilly Martinez.  I would like to say that these gears would help us in setting the foundation of giving the boxer the proper environment and gear that they need because too much times, often times we are short when it comes to our athletes having the proper gear.  I must say that all the gear that we have received today is the highest quality gear, they are from Title and they are also the best gear that you can have in boxing.  I would like to say that these gears will only be shared with those participating in boxing who are registered with the only legal boxing entity in Belize which is the Belize Boxing Federation.”

The Belize Boxing Federation is headquartered at the CET Building on St. Joseph Street.
