Two Farmers Executed in Paraiso
Two farmers from the Corozal District were gunned down this morning in a cane-field near Paraiso, just three and a half miles out of town. The bodies of Rogelio Rancharan and Victor Enrique Ayun were found by police after they responded to a report of shots being fired. A farmer who was with Rancharan and Ayun is the man who made the report claiming that when he heard the shots he ran away. The two farmers were killed with bullets to the right side of their heads. It is a peculiar and disturbing double homicide, and Police are still trying to determine a motive and hopefully, apprehend a murderer.

“At about 10:45am this morning police received reports from a fifty-four year old male person from the Corozal District, that shots were fired in an area called San Homel, that’s three and half miles east of Corozal. Upon receiving that report police visited the same area where upon arrival saw two male persons lying face up with what appears to be gunshot wounds to the right side of the head.”

“I know the investigation is still very preliminary but, have you been able to come up with any angle to follow at this time?”

“Well not as yet we are still recording statement, we are canvassing the area but apparently the complainant, he was with the two deceased and he ran after hearing the shots, so he was the one who came to make the report.”
Police recovered two empty nine mm cartridge cases in the cane-field.
