A B.D.F. Soldier is Killed at a Nightclub in Orange Walk Town
A B.D.F. soldier was killed over the weekend in Orange Walk Town. By all accounts, Rafael Rivas was socializing at Panda’s Bar next to the Central Park when he got into an altercation which resulted in him being viciously stabbed. Today, Superintendent Selvyn Tillett told us via phone that officers got the call at about nine twenty on Saturday night.

“Inside the bar a male person who had on khaki short pants was seen lying face down apparently dead in front of the entrance of the bathroom in a pool of blood. He was identified as Rafael Abel Rivas, a B.D.F. soldier of Trial Farm, Orange Walk District. Initial investigations reveal that on that date sometime around 9:05 p.m. the deceased Rafael Rivas who was inside the bar had an altercation with two male persons, one of which held him behind the bar while the other stabbed him. As a result Rivas received stab wounds to various parts of his body. He was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. So far Police have arrested one person in respect of this murder…one Gian Guerra of an Orange Walk Town address who has been taken to Court and remanded until twenty-sixth of November 2015. Police are looking for one other person who can assist in the investigation.”
We note that this is not the first murder which has happened in one of several bars in the vicinity of the Central Park.
