Cop interdicted pending investigation of shooting
Four days after the incident which drew public outrage, Police Commissioner Carmen Zetina today announced that he has ordered the interdiction of police constable Aldo Ayuso. Ayuso is the officer who fired the single gunshot to the forehead that fatally wounded twenty-one year old Leslie Rogers Junior. A release from the police department says Ayuso’s interdiction from active duty is pending what Zetina says will be an expedient, thorough and transparent investigation to determine exactly what transpired on Saturday night and whether the force used by P.C. Ayuso was warranted and justified. Meanwhile a post mortem examination has certified that Rogers died as a result of traumatic shock due to a single gunshot wound to the head.
