Dangriga Caretaker Brutally Chopped and Killed
A fifty-three-year-old farmhand in the Stann Creek District was the third person to be murdered over the weekend. On Sunday morning, Jose Rodolfo Sanchez Galeas, a Salvadoran national, was discovered by a family member lying in a pool of his own blood. The caretaker had what appeared to be a wound behind his neck and forehead. Shortly before ten-thirty a.m., Dangriga police visited a property about a mile and a half inside a feeder road, off the Stann Creek Valley Road where they happened upon the lifeless body. Missing from Sanchez was a sixteen gauge shotgun. According to the relative, she went looking for her in-law at his house on the farm and later found that the interior of the residence was spattered with blood. She immediately alerted the owner of the property about the gruesome discovery and police were subsequently summoned to the scene. Sanchez was later transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. News Five has attempted on several occasions to get a comment from Dangriga police but all efforts proved futile.
