No Arrest in Murder of Karl Heusner Jr.

The murder of Karl Heusner Junior remains an open case despite an ongoing police investigation.  On the heels of the weekend shooting, all efforts are also being made to bring together members of various groups, including Rocky Road and the South Side Gangsters.  The Gang Suppression Unit, says Williams, has joined in on the effort.

“In light of shooting incidents over the weekend, we, South Side operation officers, have teamed up with GSU on a number of occasions and we continue to do operations in these areas affected by gang violence. The purpose of the operation is to go at those persons who are perpetrating these criminal acts and we have detained a number of them. We have interviewed them and at the same time, we have also had interventions with George Street, Jump Street, South Side Gangsters and Rocky Road because the shooting of Mister Heusner had some gang implications between those four groups. So again yesterday myself, Miss Finnegan and Douglas Hyde, we had a very good mediation session with those groups yesterday with a view to see how we could deescalate the feud between those groups.”
