Cayo man drowns in Macal
The enticing waters of the Macal River in Cayo claimed the life of a Santa Elena man over the weekend. Around one on Sunday afternoon San Ignacio police say they recovered the body of Gregorio Cal from an area near the low-lying wooden bridge that connects the twin towns. While police await the results of a post mortem examination, they say they do not suspect foul play and believe that Cal may have drowned.
