Shoman Hopes to Regain the Collet Seat for the P.U.P.

Yasmin Shoman

For Shoman, the division is traditionally P.U.P. and she hopes to regain the seat for the party after eight years of U.D.P. control.

Yasmin Shoman, P.U.P. Candidate, Collet

“We are very aggressive and assertive on the ground. We have been targeting that fifty-seven percent of voters that did not come out and vote in the last elections. Most of them were P.U.P. supporters; there are more P.U.P.s than U.D.P.s, but they have not been coming out to vote. The people’s rallies and that power tour has energized our base. The unification of team thirty-one has been giving us energy and strength. As you can see, I have been continuously bringing out large crowds of people; nomination day I think we had the largest crowd out there, almost four hundred people. Lotta young people are joining the Collet movement for change.  People that have been traditionally voted for my opponent will be giving us the chance. They want somebody strong that will fight for them. Collet is one of the most neglected divisions and while we appreciate that the floods were Mother Nature raining down on us, I believe that it was god’s way of opening our people’s eyes and giving us a rebirth and showing the nation and the people of Collet just how deplorable the living conditions are. Eight years of neglect; if these people weren’t living in shanty houses and on London bridges, we would not have this severe damage.”
