Human bones found near Gracie Rock
Police need your help in putting a name and face to a human skeleton that was found on a feeder road near Gracie Rock village late Friday evening. A farmer who frequents the area stumbled on the bones and alerted authorities. According to Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid, the decomposed remains appear to be those of a medium built person and forensic experts are now trying to determine, among other things, the cause of death, how long the person had been dead and whether the bones are those of a man or a woman. Reid says that near the skeleton police found a pair of white tennis shoes, two pieces of rope and some burnt tyres leading officials to suspect that the victim did not die of natural causes. Police say they are checking their records of missing persons reported over the last year but have so far been unable to come up with anything that matches the discovery. If you have information that may lead to the identification of the skeleton, please call the nearest police station or the 9-2-2 Crimestoppers hotline.
