Investigations into latest homicides continue
Four persons were murdered between last Friday and Monday morning. A young man from Orange Walk and three Belize City residents were viciously killed during the three days and no charges have been filed against anyone in the four homicides. However, police are following leads in two cases. Police have detained two men for questioning in relation to the death of former police constable, Clarence Leslie. Leslie was accosted by two men on bicycles on Central American Boulevard on Friday night after nine and was shot in front of BD Laundromat. A post-mortem examination certifies his death was caused by a gunshot wound to the head.
Meanwhile, police in Orange Walk are on the lookout for Isvin Zepeda. Zepeda was believed to be in the company of eighteen year old Rojein Murrillo when he was murdered. Murillo was chopped to death in the August Pine Ridge area of Orange Walk Town on Sunday. Also on Sunday night, twenty-eight year old Barrington Gentle was shot inside his kitchen at his residence on Courtenay Crescent in Belize City. No arrests have been made for this murder. Monday morning’s murder of eighteen year old Steven Grant has mystified the cops who have no leads. Grant was brutally shot to death near his home in the North Creek area of Belize City. He was recently released from prison and police have since stepped up patrols in the area to prevent retaliation for that homicide.
