He has a new music video for his latest single entitled “Born and Grow” that is going viral on social media. This is the first of many songs that the artist has recently recorded and features several collaborations; including one with Jamaican artist, Gully Bap on the “Born and Grow” track. Videoed in south side Belize City, the video and song were inspired by personal struggles in life and experiences of many marginalized youths. Linares told News Five today that the music video was directed by him.
Tyrone Linares, Artist
“Dah something hot right now; a big, big song. Original lyrics, original rhythm made by Kevin Raeburn. The song dah just wah inspiration to me…it came to me in the night. It is reality music for the poor people.”
Duane Moody
“I noticed that it spoke a lot about struggles in life and all of that. Talk to us about how it reflects you.”
Tyrone Linares
“Well yo know, people still di punish. We still di struggle right now ina the ghetto weh we live. Nothing noh pretty and nothing noh nice; that dah every day living. Lotta people still di go through poverty, no free education, no jobs; lack of opportunities for the youths and that causes crime. Black on black violence and that needs to stop and I just try bring my music the real way how I could bring it. I can’t get up and sing about something weh I noh live—big vehicle, big time lif, so much cash. This is how I grow up and this is weh I face every day in my community. I directed the video myself. The concept; it took about a month to put the whole script and everything together and the song easy to put the picture on the song because the lyrics and everything di flow on it. So the shots, the scenes were nowhere far; right here in our community, south side Belize City. Gill Street to Jane Usher, Jane Usher to south side and it was really easy. So the video mi nice.”
“Now Tyrone, you are part of this bigger group, All God Sons, AGS. Talk to us about that; what the group does.”
Tyrone Linares
“Well we are four artists just willing to push out positive music to the community. If you could change a new life to put down the gun, that is what we are doing. We are not sing too much of this and that that people cannot relate to. We di center on Belizeans weh people can feel and change their lives and that really go for the kids of the future. That’s the real truth. This group is for the poor people and for ghetto youths.”
T.Y. says that his solo album will be launched in the early part of next year and that the public should look out for the release of more singles.
