Two injured, one charged in chopping
Corozal Police have arrested and charged one man in connection with a chopping incident that has left two men hospitalized. According to police, the accused attacker is twenty-one year old Nelson Acosta of a College Road address in Corozal Town. Police reports are that thirty-five year old Moses Hall and seventeen-year-old Edgar Martinez were standing near the junction of Seventh Avenue and San Andres Road in Corozal when they were approached by an armed Acosta. Martinez told police that he was robbed of three dollars before Acosta began to wield his machete. Both Martinez and Hall received injuries to the head. They were rushed to the Corozal Hospital but later transferred to the KHMH where they remain hospitalized in serious condition. Acosta meanwhile, has been charged for two counts each of attempted murder, dangerous harm, use of deadly means of harm and robbery.
