U.S. resident dead in car crash
A U.S. citizen has died as the result of a traffic accident in the Corozal District. Forty-one year old Lisa White, a resident of Carmelita, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Corozal Hospital, after the car in which she was riding went off the Northern Highway between miles seventy-eight and seventy-nine near Libertad Village. According to police, White was a passenger in a car driven by thirty year old James Lord, also of Carmelita. According to police the Pontiac with Texas license plates went out of control, left the pavement and turned over, killing White but leaving Lord with only minor injuries. Today Lord was hit with a variety of charges including manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, driving without a license, driving without insurance and drunk driving.
