Shanile Faber Pleads Not Guilty to Forgery

A school warden appeared in court today and was charged with claiming upon a forged document. She is Shanile Faber, who is related to Tanisha Sutherland who in May of this year was accused of theft and eleven counts of forgery from her former boss.  A number of cheques were reported missing and one of those cheques surfaced recently after which police arrested and charged Faber. The thirty-two year old Belize City resident was arraigned this morning and pleaded not guilty. Allegations are that on December third, 2014, Faber went to cash a Scotia Bank cheque in the sum of one hundred and seventy-five dollars. The cheque was allegedly provided to her by Sutherland. Today, Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith granted her bail in the sum of five hundred dollars with the condition that she must report to the police station once a week and she is not to interfere with any of the police or prosecution witnesses.  Faber’s next court date is set for January nineteenth, 2016.
