Police: taxi man’s car had bullet holes

In an update to a story we ran on last night’s newscast, San Ignacio police have now confirmed to News 5 that there are two bullet holes on the back of a car that was being driven by Taxi man Jose Tejeda on Sunday night when he was wounded. The forty seven year old resident of Esperanza Village told police that he was returning from the Branch mouth area when a short distance from Joseph Andrews Drive he came under attack from a person who emerged from the bushes. But even with two bullet holes in the rear of the vehicle, San Ignacio police are still questioning the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to Officer in Charge, Assistant Superintendent Godfrey Smith, one of the bullets hit the upper glass and another mark was observed on the rear license plate. The victim, meanwhile, continues to recuperate at the KHMH.
